How Vajraratna divides diamonds: white, fancy, and black
At Vajraratna the catalog is split into three collections: white, fancy, and black. Each collection is a different kind of stone, so a buyer is not asked to compare unlike diamonds.
White — colour from D to Z
White diamonds are the colourless to near-colourless family. Colour is a letter on the D–Z scale. D is colourless. Letters further down the alphabet show more tint, usually a light yellow, brown, or grey. When we add a white diamond, the colour field is D through Z — nothing else.
Fancy — colour, intensity, and overtone
Fancy diamonds leave the white scale. Colour is the feature: yellow, pink, blue, green, and other hues. They are not white diamonds with a little tint, and they are not black diamonds.
Black
Black diamonds are the third collection. They are listed on their own, not mixed with white or with fancy yellow, pink, or blue. Details of each stone are shared when you enquire.
Why the split matters
- A buyer comparing D and G is shopping white diamonds.
- A buyer comparing fancy intense yellow with fancy vivid pink is shopping fancy diamonds.
- A buyer who wants a black diamond is in black, not in fancy.
Browse the three collections on this site, or enquire with the collection name and the colour you have in mind. We quote privately. We do not list CVD or other laboratory-grown stones.
